Himalayan Salt Blocks, Salt Plates, & Salt Bricks
Beautiful translucent pink salt blocks from the Himalaya. In the rarified air of Pakistan's Himalaya Mountain Range, we find a quarry where men and mules pull massive boulders of luminescent pink ore from the earth, glowing like freshly harvested meteorites. Freighted back to the U.S., these 500 million year old boulders of salt are sliced into cubes and platters and planks and chunks for use on your table. The Meadow carries about 15 shapes and sizes of Himalayan pink rock salt. Custom shapes and sizes are also available.
Each of our Himalayan salt platters, plates, blocks, and rocks is unique, and can be enjoyed both as a natural artwork and as a tool for cooking and presenting food. Serve thinly sliced apples and Mozzarella on a cool salt brick and experience how a delicate saltiness is infused into the tart apple and creamy cheese. Try beef carpaccio or ahi tuna sashimi on a salt brick and watch the salt cure the edges of the fish. Heat the Himalayan salt brick on the stovetop and sear thin strips of flatiron steak (right) or medallions of kobe beef! View our Himalayan Salt Block Guide for more ideas and usage instructions.
We prop them in windows, use them as platters, and even cook on them! When used as a plate for moist food such as apple slices or mozzarella, the food acquires an enhanced salt and mineral flavoring. When done, just rinse and put away for another use.
We even sell Himalayan salt bricks for architectural applications, such as building Himalayan salt brick walls!
Important: All pictures below are examples only. Salt plates vary considerably in hue, marbling, and irregularities. Please note that corners may be irregular or missing, and minor cracks are to be expected. Our Himalayan salt plates are totally natural, just as they left the earth, so these irregularities are part of the unique beauty of each piece.
